Abstract

Composition and Structure of Fish Community in Batang Anai River, 2x11 Kayutanam District, Padang Pariaman Regency Abstract Human activities tend to increase around the Batang Anai River, it is concerned will threat fish community in it. This study aim to explore composition and structure of fish community and environtment factor in Batang Anai River. The research was conducted in December 2016 until January 2017. Survey method is used in this research with sampling mecanism based on purposive random sampling at three stations. Fish samples were collected during one hour every station. Result shows that the fish abundance is 447 ind/ 3 hours recruitment. The highest abundance is found in station III (Anduring), it is 231 ind/ hour recruitment. Most abundance species is Nemacheilus pfeifferae, it is 135 ind/ 3 hours recruitment. Then, followed by Tor tambra, it is 134 ind/ 3 hours recruitment. Fish diversity in Batang Anai River is classified as medium diverse, their distribution is relatively even, there is no dominating species. However, a decrease in the diversity index values occur along streams. Water condition of Batang Anai River still able to support fish life, but occur decreasing quality along streams.
