Abstract

Paddy straw mushroom is a fungus consumption which is heterotrophic, and living on organic waste that is rich in nutrients and one substrate for growth that can be used is oil palm empty fruit bunches which is solid waste generated by the oil mill, so do research on about “The Influence of the addition of limestone, calcite and dolomite to the production of Mushrooms (Volvariella volvacea) on palm empty fruit bunches” had been conducted from December 2016 to January 2017 2016 in the Mycologi Laboratory, Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Andalas University and at home mushroom Subdistrict Pasaman West Pasaman city of Padang, West Sumatra. The aim of this study was to determine compare the addition of calcite and dolomite to Mushroom production in oil palm empty fruit bunches. The method used is survey method and descriptive analysis. The results production paddy straw mushroom optimum the total weight of the fruiting bodies (1537 g), The total number fruiting bodies 101 fruits and the heaviest weight of fruiting bodies 60 g, with a range of harvesting for 10 days was obtained from addition of treatment 1% calcite.
