Abstract
Abstrak Walang sangit (Leptocorisa oratorius F.) merupakan hama utama yang banyak merugikan pada pertanaman padi (Oryza sativa L). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat serangan dan kepadatan populasi walang sangit pada pertanaman padi di Kecamatan Talamau (±701 mdpl) dan Kecamatan Kinali (±51 mdpl). Penelitian dilakukan dalam bentuk survei dengan pengambilan sampel secara acak terpilih. Parameter yang diamati adalah kondisi pertanaman padi, kepadatan populasi walang sangit, persentase malai terserang per rumpun, dan persentase bulir terserang per rumpun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepadatan populasi walang sangit lebih tinggi di Kecamatan Kinali dibandingkan Kecamatan Talamau. Kepadatan populasi walang sangit di Kecamatan Kinali yaitu 9,67 ekor/m2 sedangkan di Kecamatan Talamau 4,77 ekor/m2. Tingkat serangan malai dan bulir lebih tinggi di Kecamatan Kinali dan Talamau. Persentase malai terserang per rumpun di Kecamatan Kinali yaitu 68,84% sedangkan di Kecamatan Talamau 32,67%. Persentase bulir terserang per rumpun di Kecamatan Kinali yaitu 52,54% sedangkan di Kecamatan Talamau 17,40%. Ketinggian tempat berpengaruh terhadap kepadatan populasi walang sangit. Kata kunci: Leptocorisa oratorius F., Oryza sativa L., tingkat serangan. Abstract Rice bug is a major pest of rice crop plantation (Oryza sativa L.). The study aimed to determine attack rate and population density of rice bug (Leptocorisa Oratorius F.) on rice plantation in Talamau (±701 mdpl) and Kinali district (±51 mdpl). Survey conducted with a purpose random sampling. The parameters were rice plantation conditions, population density of rice bug, percentage of panicle, and grain attacked. The results showed that population density of rice bug was higher in Kinali than Talamau. Population density of rice bug in Kinali was 9.67 individu/m2, while in Talamau was 4.77 individu/m2. The same condition found at panicle and grain attacked. The percentage of panicle attacked in Kinali was 68.84%, while in Talamau was 32.67%. The percentage of grain attacked in Kinali was 52.54%, while in Talamau was 17.40%. Altitude affected on population density of rice bug.
