Abstract

The rising of Covid 19 cases has made the learning system change to online learning. The purpose of this study is to compare the differences in student spending before and during online learning. There are six indicators of spending that will be examine in this study which is food consumption cost, transportation cost, internet quota cost, other expense cost include entertainment, travelling and shopping, and the last one is total spending. This research use primary data, the sample of this research was 376 students of Andalas University class of 2017, 2018 and 2019. The data will be collected using online questionnaires with random sampling technique. The analysis technique used in this research is the pre-requisite test, classic assumption test, and Paired T-test analysis. The results of the research will be presented using descriptive analysis. Research data explains that during online learning the average UNAND student expenditure has decreased compared to before. Student expenses for rent, food,transportation, other expenses have decreased while purchasing internet quota has increased.
