Abstract

Coronary Heart Disease is one of the Cardiovasculer Diseases which is the leading cause of death in the world with a percentage of 13.2%. Southeast Asia based Cardiovascular Disease mortality is only one level under the Americans with the highest Cardiovascular Disease mortality. Southeast Asia is located in the greenyellow zone, even the Philippines, Indonesia, and Laos is a green zone with mortality by cardiovascular disease are quite high at 301-400 per 100.000. It illustrates that the Cardiovascular Disease is especially Coronary Heart Disease is not only a cause of death in developed countries but also in developing countries, in Southeast Asia mortality from cardiovascular disease is quite high. This study aims to perform Meta Analysis of Coronary Heart Disease risk factors in Southeast Asia. Meta analysis was conducted toward cohort and case-control study design on risk factors for Coronary Heart Disease published between 1980 to January 2015 in the PubMed database, ProQuest, EBSCO and BioMed Central. Pooled odds ratios (OR) were calculated with fixed and random-effects models. Data was processed by using Review Manager 5.3 (RevMan 5.3). This study reviewed 7471 articles and included 11 research articles (5 articles cohort study and 6 articles with case control study) into a systematic review. Followed by Meta-analysis of relevant data. The meta-analysis showed that there were significant relationship to obesity (OR 1.92, 95% CI 1:17 to 3:16), hypertension (OR 4:02, 95% CI 1.47-10.98), diabetes (OR 3:59, 95% CI 1.96-6.57) and dyslipidemia ( OR 1.93 95% CI 1.64-2.26) with Coronary Heart Disease in Southeast Asia. While hypertension there was no significant relationship with Coronary Heart Disease in Southeast Asia. Risk factors for Coronary Heart Disease in Southeast Asia are obesity, hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia. Suggested For the Ministryof Health of the Republic of Indonesia for the study include Southeast Asia, where Indonesia is one of them, is expected to increase and intensify programs have focused prevention of obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia in the community, because this research proves that obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia are risk factors for Coronary Heart Disease.
