Abstract

This thesis examines the technological interference carried out by the government to manipulate the people of the World State in the novel Brave New World written by Aldous Huxley and the reasons they do it based on the principles of Utilitarianism proposed by Mill, to see whether the action can be justified morally. This thesis will also examine and explain the impact of technological interference on society in the novel, which causes many changes in the way of human life. This novel describes how people in the World State have been unknowingly manipulated by the government to fulfill their obligations without feeling forced. This cannot be categorized as a moral act because the people are under the rule of the government, which is contrary to the concept of utilitarianism where happiness must be achieved and pursued by the individual himself
