Abstract
The research about the application of some concentration of purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) extract as biostimulant on growth of kale (Brassica oleracea L.var acephala) has been carried out from January 2022 until March 2022 at Lubuk Kilangan, Padang and Plant Physiology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Andalas, Padang. The aim of the research was to analysis the effect of some concentration of purslane extract on growth of kale. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Some concentration of purslane extract as treatment were A (0%), B (1.5%), C (3%), D (4.5%) and E (6%). The results showed that the application of purslane extract gave the significant effect on chlorophyll b and total content of kale but gave no effect on growth parameters such as plant height, leaves number, root lenght, fresh and dry weight of and chlorophyll a of kale significantly. Based on the proximate analysis, the increasing of concentration of purslane extract increase the percentage of protein and decrease the percentage of crude fiber, crude fat, and carbohydrates in kale leaves.
