Abstract

This study aims to determine The Effect of Social Media Addiction and Family Involvement on Academic Performance With Self-efficacy as Mediating Variable of Management Department Andalas University Student. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling with non probability sampling and obtained a sample of 182 people. Data analysis uses a Likert scale of 1-5 using the SmartPLS 4.0 program and Microsoft Excel assistance to process data. Data testing techniques use measurement model tests and use mediation tests with the Variance Accounted For (VAF) method. The results showed that Social Media addiction has a positive and significant effect on academic performance, family involvement has negative and insignificant effect on academic performance, self-efficacy has positive and significant effect on academic performance, Social media addiction has positive and significant effect on self-efficacy, family involvement has positive and significant effect on self-efficacy, the relationship between social media addiction on academic performance is mediated by self-efficacy, the relationship between family involvement on academic performance is mediated by self-efficacy.
