Abstract

This research aims to identify factors that influence accounting students perception in career selection. The factors used as variable are salary, professional training, profession recognition, social values, work environment, and family influence. This research was done by surveyed respondens. The samples were 80 respondents from accounting students who were in the third year, fourth year, and fifth year of public universities in Padang. Analysis of the data used in this research was multinomial logistic regression with SPSS version 23. The results of this study indicate that profession recognition and social values influence career selection of accounting students. While salary, professional training, work environment, and family influence do not influence career selection of accounting students.
