Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder of carbohydrates, proteins and fats due to an imbalance of insulin in the body. This condition is a significant health problem because the number of sufferers is very high and showing an increase in number every year including pregestational diabetes. This event number can be attempted to decrease by doing early prevention in the form of controlling blood sugar levels. One of the prevention effort that can be done is through increasing the knowledge of pregnant women about controlling blood sugar. Through provide the health education, it is expected to improve maternal and fetal health. It is also expected to minimizes the incidence of complications in women with pregestational diabetes. The purpose of writing this final scientific paper is to discuss nursing care in Mrs.W (28 years old) G1P0A0H0 with pregestational diabetes and 13-14 weeks gestational age in the working area of Lubuk Buaya Public Health Center in Padang. Treatment procedures was carried out starting from the assessment, analyzing data, establishing diagnosis, arranging interventions, implementing, implementing evidence based practice nursing in order to increase the knowledge, and evaluating. This report can be used as a guide in providing nursing care to pregnant women who have diabetes melitus.
