Abstract

STRATEGI BLUE OCEAN UNTUK MENUMBUHKAN ALIRAN PENDAPATAN BARU PT SEMEN PADANG DENGAN BISNIS BINDER CLAY MENGGUNAKAN MODEL BISNIS CANVAS DAN ANALISIS SWOT Tesis Oleh Akhmayanda Nasution (2220522087) Pembimbing:Prof. Dr. Syukri Lukman, SE.MS Dr. Fajri Adrianto, SE, M.Bus (Adv) ABSTRAK Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi blue ocean untuk menumbuhkan aliran pendapatan baru bagi PT Semen Padang melalui pengembangan bisnis binder clay. Industri semen nasional saat ini menghadapi tantangan oversupply yang signifikan, menyebabkan penurunan pangsa pasar PT Semen Padang. Oleh karena itu, diversifikasi bisnis menjadi krusial. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan enam (6) informan kunci dari Departemen Bisnis Inkubasi Non Semen (BINS) PT Semen Padang. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan matriks Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) dengan perolehan nilai (2,34) dan External Factor Evaluation (EFE) dengan perolehan nilai (2,14) untuk mengidentifikasi kekuatan, kelemahan,peluang, dan ancaman, yang kemudian dipetakan ke dalam elemen-elemen Model Bisnis Kanvas. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa bisnis binder clay PT Semen Padang berada pada kuadran (V)Hold and Maintain dalam matriks Internal-Eksternal (IE). Kekuatan utama meliputi kualitas produk unggul, ketersediaan bahan baku melimpah, dan kapasitas produksi besar. Namun, kelemahan seperti ketergantungan pada satu pelanggan utama dan kendala logistik perlu diatasi. Strategi blue ocean yang diusulkan berfokus pada penciptaan pasar baru yang belum tersentuh pesaing (misalnya, industri pupuk NPK selain Pusri, industri kertas, dan CaCO₃) melalui inovasi nilai, yaitu meningkatkan nilai bagi pelanggan (kualitas stabil, suplai terjamin) sambil mengelola biaya (efisiensi operasional). Implementasi strategi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan dengan mendiversifikasi portofolio bisnis, mengurangi risiko oversupply di industri semen, dan menciptakan pertumbuhan berkelanjutan. The national cement industry is currently facing significant oversupply challenges, causing a decline in PT Semen Padang's market share. Therefore, business diversification is crucial. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews with six (6) key informants from the Non-Cement Incubation Business Department (BINS) of PT Semen Padang. The collected data was analyzed using the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) matrix with a score of (2.34) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) with a score of (2.14) to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, which were then mapped into the elements of the Canvas Business Model. The results of the analysis show that PT Semen Padang's binder clay business is in the Hold and Maintain quadrant (V) in the Internal-External (IE) matrix. The main strengths include superior product quality, abundant raw material availability, and large production capacity. However, weaknesses such as reliance on one key customer and logistical constraints need to be addressed. The proposed blue ocean strategy focuses on creating new markets that have not been touched by competitors (e.g., the NPK fertilizer industry other than Pusri, the paper industry, and CaCO₃) through value innovation,i.e. increasing value for customers (stable quality, guaranteed supply) while managing costs (operational efficiency). The implementation of this strategy is expected to improve the company's performance by diversifying its business portfolio, reducing the risk of oversupply in the cement industry, and creating sustainable growth.
