Abstract
The learning process of the Electric Machines course in higher education often encounters challenges in delivering complex materials requiring in-depth understanding. Conventional teaching methods frequently fail to enhance students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills effectively. To address these challenges, blended learning based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) emerges as a relevant approach, particularly when supported by an interactive Learning Management System (LMS). This Technical Report aims to design and develop an interactive blended learning model using an LMS with a PBL approach tailored for the Electric Machines course. This report is significant as the proposed learning model is expected to improve student engagement, conceptual understanding, and practical skills essential for professional demands. The method adopted in this technical report follows the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were gathered through observation, literature review, and a trial implementation of the blended learning model on electrical engineering students. The tools and materials include an LMS for instructional media, interactive modules, and evaluation instruments such as questionnaires and performance rubrics. The findings indicate that the developed blended learning model significantly enhances students' active participation in the learning process. The interactive LMS facilitates effective course management and promotes collaborative problem-solving discussions. Feedback from students highlights the flexibility of the learning model and its contribution to deepening conceptual comprehension. This report concludes that LMS-supported blended learning based on PBL is an innovative solution to elevate the teaching quality of the Electric Machines course. Furthermore, this design holds potential for broader application in other technical courses.
