Abstract
PENGARUH MARKET ORIENTATION DAN FIRM RESOURCES TERHADAP FIRM PERFORMANCE MELALUI INOVASI SEBAGAI VARIABEL MEDIASI (STUDI PADA USAHA JASA PESTA DI SUMATERA BARAT) Chintia Wulan Sari 1, Yulia Hendri Yeni 2, Vera Pujani 3 Jurusan Magister Manajemen Universitas Andalas Penulis Korespondensi: yuliahendriyeni@eb.unand.ac.id ABSTRAK Pernikahan merupakan peristiwa sakral dalam budaya Minangkabau yang dianggap sebagai puncak dari siklus kehidupan. Adat istiadat dalam pernikahan bukan hanya hiburan semata, melainkan juga mempunyai nilai filosofis dan budaya yang mendalam. Namun, meskipun prospek bisnis pelayanan jasa pesta di Sumatera Barat cukup besar, kinerja usaha dalam sektor ini sering kali tidak memenuhi harapan. Hasil observasi menunjukkan beberapa masalah seperti keterlambatan vendor dan ketidakpuasan dalam kualitas layanan seperti dekorasi, fotografi, videografi, dan catering. Ketidakmampuan dalam manajemen sumber daya dan kurangnya keputusan strategis yang tepat menjadi faktor utama penyebab ketidak- puasan ini. Untuk meningkatkan keunggulan bersaing, perusahaan harus mengembangkan strategi yang tepat yang dapat mengubah kondisi pasar. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam konteks usaha jasa pesta di Sumatera Barat, baik orientasi pasar maupun sumber daya perusahaan memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap inovasi dan kinerja perusahaan secara langsung, tetapi inovasi tidak berperan sebagai mediator yang efektif dalam hubungan ini. The customs in marriage are not merely entertainment but also carry profound philosophical and cultural values. However, despite the promising business prospects in the party service sector in West Sumatra, business performance in this sector often falls short of expectations. Observations reveal several issues, such as vendor delays and dissatisfaction with service quality in areas such as decoration, photography, videography, and catering. Ineffective resource management and a lack of strategic decision-making are the primary factors causing this dissatisfaction. To enhance competitive advantage, companies must develop appropriate strategies that can reshape market conditions. These findings indicate that, in the context of party service businesses in West Sumatra, both market orientation and firm resources significantly impact innovation and firm performance directly, but innovation does not serve as an effective mediator in this relationship.
