Abstract
Who is not familiar with the story of Cinderella? Cinderella is a classic fairy tale that is commonly known and favorite, from children to adults. Cinderella is a story that depicts hopes and dreams that come true. The data sources used in this research are Cinderilla or The Glass Slipper by Charles Perrault translated by George G Harrap and the adaptation of Cinderella by Walt Disney in 1950. This research uses Seymour Chatman’s theory of narrative and Linda Hutcheon’s adaptation theory to look at interpretation in narrative change, especially the change of discourse from text to visual. This research methodology uses qualitative methods. This research focuses on how Cinderella’s dream to become a princess is represented by Charles Perrault and Disney animation and what special features are displayed in the fulfillment of the dream.
