Abstract

Noise pollution is one of a problem in a workplace health issue that arises from every process in the field of industry. It is estimated that almost 14% of the total workforce exposed to noise exceeding the threshold in around 275 million people in the world with hearing disorders. Related to noisework place at UMKM Koto Dalam uses an embroidery machine that genarates noise from manufacturing process.The aims of this research are to see the overview of noise intesity and hearing disorders in embroidery workers at UMKM Koto Dalam. This research is study with a sample of 20 worker.Noise intensity by using sound level meter and headpiece test. Sound level is used to measure the noise intensity of the mechine and the garputala is used to determine the presence of hearing loss in embroidery workers. The result of the noise intesity of the 4 machine mesured are: machine type 1 (88db), machine type 2 (87db), machine type 3 (89db), machine type 4 (88db). The result of hearing disorders using headpiece obtained with normal hearing as much as 20 people (100%). In conclusion, intensity of noise around by machine is exceeds the threshold, but infection hearing has no problem.
