Abstract

ABSTRACT Gestational trophoblastic disease (PTG) is a malignant tumor originating from cyto and syncytiotrophoblasts which invades the myometrium, damaging surrounding tissue and blood vessels. Besides being able to cause physical problems in sufferers of PTG, it can also cause psychological problems, one of which is anxiety. Management of anxiety can be managed with pharmacological and non-pharmacological. One non-pharmacological therapy that can be done to overcome anxiety in PTG sufferers is by applying relaxation therapy, namely music therapy. The aim of this scientific work is to provide comprehensive nursing care to clients suffering from PTG by applying music therapy. This writing method uses a case study based on evidence based nursing which was carried out on June 24-July 9 2023 with the application of music therapy for 1 week. The results after being given nursing care and music therapy intervention were a decrease in anxiety scores from the moderate category to the mild category using anxiety measuring instruments on the State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) scale and the Hamilton Rating Scale Anxiety (HARS). It is hoped that this scientific work will become information material and become an option in providing psychological interventions in overcoming anxiety in PTG sufferers by providing music therapy so that it is hoped that it can improve maximum service in providing nursing care for professional health workers.
