Abstract

Fever is a child health problem in Indonesia that often affects children aged 3-6 years. Nonpharmacological interventions that can be carried out in children with fever are by giving compresses with additional herbal plants to reduce the increase in body temperature. Hibiscus leaves contain flavonoids, saponins, polyphenols, essential oils, and calcium as antipyretics which are effective in overcoming or reducing fever. The purpose of writing this final scientific work is to provide nursing care for children with fever by applying Evidence Based Nursing by giving hibiscus leaf compresses to the problem of hyperthermia in children. The method used is a case study by providing nursing care starting from assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation of nursing. The diagnoses that were made were hyperthermia, an impaired feeling of comfort, and increased readiness for health management. Implementation in implementing Evidence Based Nursing is carried out for three consecutive days. The result of nursing care is that all nursing problems can be resolved and the application of Evidence Based Nursing, namely giving hibiscus leaf compresses is effective because it can overcome the problem of hyperthermia by lowering body temperature in children with fever. So hibiscus leaf compresses can be used as a nonpharmacological intervention in providing nursing care to treat hyperthermia in children with fever.
