Abstract

Postoperative pain is experienced by most of the patients after surgery, so that it requires analgesic to relief the pain. This study was aimed to describe the effectiveness of analgesic and incidence of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) on postoperative patients in ‘Aisyiyah Hospital Padang and Pariaman. Datas for this study were collected prospectively since July to October 2015. This study used purposive sampling method and there were 39 samples, consisted of 19 patients in ‘Aisyiyah Hospital Padang and 20 patients in ‘Aisyiyah Hospital Pariaman. Pain, using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and incidence of ADR were assesed and analyzed descriptively. Based on Wilcoxon test, the result shows that analgesic effective to relief postoperative pain in ‘Aisyiyah Hospital Padang and Pariaman (p<0,05). Incidences of ADR that patients experienced in ‘Aisyiyah Hospital Padang (63,2%) and ‘Aisyiyah Hospital Pariaman (60%) are nausea, vomit, dizziness, constipation and itchy skin, in addition 36,8% and 40% of patients in ‘Aisyiyah Hospital Padang and Pariaman have no incidence of ADR.
