Abstract

Background and Purpose of Research Exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk age of 6 months without being given other food or drinks including water, except vitamins, minerals and medicines. World Health Organization (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for up to six months. In 2016 Exclusive ASI coverage in Indonesia was still below the national target (80%). One of the efforts to improve the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding is through the program, namely the class of pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the participation of mothers in the pregnant women class with exclusive breastfeeding in Air Dingin Primary Health Center in 2018. Themethod The study is cross sectional carried out in Air Dingin Primary Health Center from March to November 2018. mothers who have children aged 6-12 months as many as 65 people who meet the inclusion criteria. Mothers as respondents were interviewed directly using a questionnaire. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using statistical test chi-square with p-value ≤0.05. Results Results of this study found 52.3% of mothers were not exclusively breastfed to their babies and 72.3% of the participation of mothers in the pregnant women class was in the less category. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between the participation of mothers in the class of pregnant women with exclusive breastfeeding with p-value = 0.000. Conclusion There is a relationship between the participation of mothers in the class of pregnant women with exclusive breastfeeding. Therefore it is necessary for mothers to take part in the class activities of pregnant women to increase their mother's knowledge about maternal and child health, especially in this study, the importance of giving exclusive breastfeeding to babies. Bibliography : 72 (2002-2018) Keywords : Exclusive breastfeeding, the class of pregnant women, participation HUBUNGAN KEIKUTSERTAAN IBU DIKELAS IBU HAMIL DENGAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS AIR DINGIN KOTA PADANG Latar Belakang dan Tujuan Penelitian ASI eksklusif yaitu ASI yang diberikan pada bayi mulai dari lahir hingga usia 6 bulan tanpa diberi makanan atau minuman lain termasuk air, kecuali vitamin, mineral dan obat-obatan. World health Organization (WHO) menganjurkan pemberian ASI Eksklusif hingga enam bulan. Pada tahun 2016 cakupan ASI Eksklusif di Indonesia masih di bawah target nasional (80%). Upaya untuk meningkatkan pencapaian ASI eksklusif salah satunya melalui program yaitu kelas ibu hamil. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan keikutsertaan ibu di kelas ibu hamil dengan pemberian ASI Eksklusif di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Air Dingin kota Padang tahun 2018. Metode Penelitian cross sectional dilakukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Air Dingin dari bulan Maret-November 2018. Sampel penelitian ini adalah ibu yang memiliki anak usia 6-12 bulan sebanyak 65 orang yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Ibu sebagai responden diwawancarai secara langsung dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji statistik chi-square dengan p-value ≤0,05. Hasil Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan 52.3% ibu tidak ASI Eksklusif kepada bayinya dan 72.3% keikutsertaan ibu di kelas ibu hamil berada pada kategori kurang. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara keikutsertaan ibu di kelas ibu hamil dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan p-value = 0.000. Kesimpulan Terdapat hubungan antara keikutsertaan ibu di kelas ibu hamil dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Oleh karena itu perlu bagi ibu untuk mengikuti kegiatan kelas ibu hamil untuk menambah pengetahuan ibu tentang kesehatan ibu dan anak khususnya dalam penelitian ini adalah pentingya pemberian ASI Eksklusif kepada bayi.
