Abstract
This article focuses on crimes in Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck in Great Depression in the United States 1930s context. Furthermore, this study is using sociological approach which supported by Strain Theory by Robet K. Merton developed by Robert Agnew. This research is using qualitative method which described into paragraph instead of number. The result is I found that whites American is reflected tends to commit crime because the failure to adapts with the pressure of social expectations. Moreover, African American is reflected can do adaptation and maintain the pressure.
