Abstract

QUALITY OF LIFE OF BREAST CANCER PATIENTS IN RSUP DR. M. DJAMIL PADANG Surya Alkindi1, Dwi Puspasari2, Nila Anggreiny2 1) Student of Psychology Major, Medical Faculty, Andalas University 2) Lecturer of Psychology Major, Medical Faculty, Andalas University ABSTRACT Quality of life is not important for someone health in the last time. With developments of technological and the development of science especially in the field of health and social change make the quality of life into something to be considered in measuring and assign the state of disease. For example, whether a person has chronic illness or not. The purposes of this research were to see the descriptive quality of life of breast cancer patients in RSUP DR M. Djamil Padang. The design of this study used a descriptive quantitative approach. Variable in this research is quality of life of breast cancer patient. Samples in this study were all patients with breast cancer who underwent treatment at RSUP. M. Djamil padang period 2016, with sampling technique that is accidental sampling. This study uses the WHOQOL-BREF quality life instrument which is the development of the WHOQOL-100 instrument. The results showed generally the quality of life of breast cancer patients in RSUP DR. M. Djamil Padang (state 2,3,4) is low. The highest domain of quality of life is the environment then the social relations, the psychological domain, and the lowest domain of physical health.
