Abstract

RECEPTION OF BENGKULU`S MUHAMMADIYAH COMMUNITY AGAINST POLITICAL PROPAGANDA OF MEDIA (Study On Mars Perindo in MNC Group) By Misni Astuti (BP1520862018) Supervisor: Dr. Asrinaldi, M.Si and Dr. Mulyanti syas, M.Si ABSTRACT This research was motivated by the development of homeland media today, where the media is no longer in line with the function ideally as stipulated in the Press Law No.40 of 1999. Media are ideally dedicated to the public interest, but today, the media are even more in favor of the interests of the elite media only.Mars Perindo massive impressions in MNC in turn reinforce the notion that democracy in Indonesia was increasingly unbalanced. This study entitled Reception Of Bengkulu`S Muhammadiyah Community Against Political Propaganda Of Media, Study On Mars Perindo in MNC Group. This study aimed to describe any form of political propaganda media are packed in commercials "Mars Perindo", MNC Group as well as to determine how reception of bengkulu`s muhammadiyah community against political propaganda of media. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis. Informants in this study is a community group Muhammadiyah Bengkulu researchers selected by purposive sampling. This study focuses on decoding the audience with a qualitative approach. Data collection methods used were interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using semiotic approach by Peirce and reseption theory by Hall. The results showed that Mars Perindo construct three major issues including, build personal branding Tanoesoedibjo, build political branding of Perindo as a party and construct meaning religious community in particular tolerance between Muslims and Christian community. Position purport to Mars Perindo in MNC interpreted uniformly by the informant elected, namely the negotiated position. The style or identity Muhammadiyah as a non-political social movement is suspected as the dominant factor affecting the informant of understanding of social reality.
