Abstract
Penumpukan debris yang terus menerus akan mengakibatkan akumulasi dan retensi plak yang dapat memicu terjadinya karies gigi. Luas permukaan debris dapat diukur dengan indeks debris. Keju dapat menstimulasi aliran saliva yang berguna untuk self cleansing, menghambat bakteri plak, mengandung kalsium dan fosfat anorganik. Hal ini mengurangi demineralisasi dan meningkatkan remineralisasi email gigi sehingga menurunkan kejadian karies. Data menunjukkan karies sering terjadi pada anak usia sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan mengonsumsi keju cheddar sebagai self cleansing effect dengan perubahan indeks debris pada siswa kelas V SD N 22 Andalas Kota Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional menggunakan metode pendekatan one group pretest-postest design. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 57 orang. Masing-masing sampel diberi perlakuan mengonsumsi keju cheddar. Pengukuran indeks debris menggunakan disclosing solution. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata indeks debris sebelum dan sesudah mengonsumsi keju cheddar adalah 1,182 dan 0,537. Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara indeks debris sebelum dan sesudah mengonsumsi keju cheddar dengan nilai p < 0,05. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan mengonsumsi keju cheddar sebagai self cleansing effect dengan perubahan indeks debris. Kata kunci : Indeks Debris, Keju Cheddar, Self Cleansing Effect Debris buildup which will result in continuous accumulation and retention of plaque that can lead to dental caries. The surface area can be measured by the index debris debris. Cheese can stimulate saliva flow which is useful for self-cleansing, inhibiting bacterial plaque, calcium and inorganic phosphate. This reduces demineralization and remineralization of tooth enamel increases thus reducing the incidence of caries. Data showed caries often occurs in school-age children. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of cheddar cheese eating as a self-cleansing effect with the index changes debris in Class V SD N 22 Andalas Padang. This research is an observational research using the method of approach one group pretest-posttest design. The samples used as many as 57 people. Each sample was treated eat cheddar cheese. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Research showed the average index of debris before and after eating cheddar cheese are 1.182 and 0.537. There is a significant difference between the index debris before and after eating cheddar cheese with a value of p <0.05. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded there is a relationship eating cheddar cheese as a self-cleansing effect with the index changes debris.
