Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze and provide empirical evidence about the effect of career motivation, economic motivation, quality motivation, and degree motivation on student interest in accounting to follow accounting profession education (PPAk). Population of this research is accounting students at the college in Padang that have finished auditing subject.Sampling method is by using stratified sampling and incidental sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using primary data on responses to questionnaires that distributed to 140 respondent then analyzed the quantitative descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The result of this research show that career motivation and economic motivation has no significant affect for accounting students interest to enroll in an accounting profession education. On the other side, quality motivation and degree motivation significantly effect for accounting students interest in accounting profession education. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan memberikan bukti empiris mengenai pengaruh motivasi karir, motivasi ekonomi, motivasi kualitas, dan motivasi gelar terhadap minat mahasiswa akuntansi untuk mengikuti PPAk. Populasi dari penelitin ini adalah mahasiwa akuntansi pada perguruan tinggi sekota Padang yang telah mengambil mata kuliah audit.Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Stratified Sampling dengan teknik Incidental Sampling. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan data primer pada respon terhadap kuesioner yang dibagikan pada 140 responden, kemudian menganalisis dengan deskriptif kuantitatif dan model regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi karir dan motivasi ekoomi tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap minat mengikuti PPAk. Sedangkan motivasi kualitasa dan motivasi gelar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat mengikuti PPAk.
