Abstract

Pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia are required to compete by making innovations, promotions, good marketing systems, and optimal product quality. One way to do this is to make changes in distribution by using motorcycles. Motorcycles are considered more flexible than four-wheeled vehicles. This is due to the relatively smaller size of four-wheeled vehicles and the level of difficulty in carrying a motorcycle, which is not like four-wheeled vehicles. The use of motorbikes is also a vehicle that is more efficient than the use of four-wheeled vehicles in carrying out distribution. In carrying out the process of distributing drugs using motorbikes, PT Penta Valent uses motorbike boxes in its distribution. The motorbike boxes used by PT Penta Valent use a mixed concept where the placement of the box uses the sides and the top of the motorbike so that the total volume obtained by the box is greater. The use of motor boxes at PT Penta Valent is considered more flexible in transporting various goods, but in practice, the use of motor boxes is still not optimal. There are still many shortcomings that can be improved on drug distribution motor boxes, including several that are considered important, namely the too-large width of the box and the fact that a more permanent motor box requires the company to cut the seat of the motor so that gas can be filled. So the researchers aim to redesign the PT Penta Valent drug distribution motor box. The design of PT Penta Valent’s drug distribution motor box is based on an ergonomic approach based on BPOM regulations and government regulations using the design thinking method. The design thinking method is used because it is easy to apply and effective for product development. Besides, this method is also commonly used, so it was chosen for product development. After doing the research, the results of the design used a mixed concept where the box was placed on the side and top of the box, but for the box that was placed above the motorbike, the width of the box was adjusted to the width of the motorbike so that the box did not disturb the user. Furthermore, the box concept at the top that uses the swingarm concept makes it easier for users to refill gasoline, coupled with several other features that take pain and gain into account. distribution was carried out.
