Susu fermentasi starter Lactococcus lactis D4 asal dadih merupakan probiotik yang berpotensi memperlambat kerusakan hepar dan menurunkan aktivitas senyawa radikal bebas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian susu fermentasi starter Lactococcus lactis D4 asal dadih terhadap kadar MDA serta aktivitas enzim katalase serum pada tikus model ikterus obstruktif. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental yang dilakukan secara post test only randomized control group design. Penelitian ini melibatkan 18 ekor tikus Rattus novergicus galur Wistar model ikterus obstruktif yang dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif (K-), kontrol positif (K+), dan kelompok perlakuan (P) susu fermentasi starter Lactococcus lactis D4 asal dadih dosis 0,36 ml/200 grBB selama 7 hari. Penelitian ini kemudian akan menilai aktivitas enzim katalase serum serta kadar MDA dari tikus model ikterus obstruktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan rerata aktivitas enzim katalase (unit/mg) adalah K-: (5.38 ± 0.31), K+ (4.98 ± 0.47), P (5.08 ± 0.24). Tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna aktivitas enzim katalase serum tikus (p>0,05). Rerata kadar MDA (nmol/ml) adalah K- (1.76 ± 0.07), K+ (2.46 ± 0.10), P (1.80 ± 0.08). Terdapat perbedaan bermakna kadar MDA tikus (p<0,05).
