Abstract

In general, children with special needs is a child that is unique in the type and characteristics, which distinguish from normal children. One of them is a child with physical disabilities spasticity category. Physical disability spasticity category suffered will make the child feel worthless, inferior, and not confident to socialize with their environment. However, one of the children with physical disabilities in SLB Wacana Asih Padang is known to overcome the physical restrictiveness so that they can achievers. The study is aimed to know the resilience factors of children with physical disabilities. Method used is qualitative method with the type of case study. Data collection technique obtained the result of interview, observation, and documentation. The results of this study is that the resilience has three resilience sources; received support from parents, teachers and their friends (I Have), has good confidence like other normal children (I Am), and be able to establish social relationships and interpersonal well (I Can). Subjects has seven factors of resilience; be able to be quite under pressure condition of their restrictiveness (emotion regulation), controlling will that can do the activity like other normal children (impulse control), optimistic, do not want to hurt their friends at school (empathy), presenting faith and be able to know how to solve the problem (self efficacy), be able to identify the cause and effect of physical condition bad (causal analysis), and have life purpose on their restrictiveness (reaching out).
