Abstract
RELATION OF TUBERKULOSIS TREATMENT COMPLIANCE WITH THE INCIDENCE OF MULTIDRUG RESISTANT TUBERCULOSIS IN RSUD AHCMAD MUCHTAR BUKITTINGGI By Redo Kurniawan ABSTRACT Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis is one of the major problems in the eradication of TB in the world. This disease is caused by M. Tuberculosis with resistance to rifampicin and isoniazid. The prevalence of MDR-TB in the world is 480,000 cases in 2014, Indonesia became the eighth most with 6,900 cases. This study aims to examine the relationship of adherence TB treatment with MDR-TB incidence in RSUD Achmad Muchtar Bukittinggi. This study used cross sectional design. Samples of this study is 48 people, consisting of 24 patients were positive TB MDR-TB and 24 TB patients were negative MDR-TB based on inspection of M. tuberculosis cultures and gene Xpert in the period January 2014 - December 2015. Data were collected using questionnaires Medication adherence Morisky Scale (MMAS) were then tested by chi-square. In this study showed that patients with MDR-TB in the most productive age (41%), men (62.5%), the role of PMO that support TB treatment (87%) and average a history of TB treatment respondent was in the category of compliance (70%). From the results of the bivariate chi square analysis showed that the PMO's role has a relationship with a TB patient treatment compliance (p = 0.004) and there was no significant correlation between compliance with the incidence of MDR-TB (p = 0.20). The conclusion of this study there was no significant correlation between a history of TB treatment compliance with the incidence of MDR-TB in RSUD Achmad Muchtar Bukittinggi.
