Abstract

This study uses a quantitative approach that focuses on hypothesis testing, which aims to find out how the influence of good corporate governance on financial performance in financial institution companies listed on Bursa Efek Indonesia from 2016 to 2018. Based on purposive sampling, the results obtained are 13 companiest that be sample in this study. Data obtained from the website www.idx.co.id. The results of this study indicate that (1) the supervision carried out by the board of commissioners is not objective (there is a possibility that elections are not conducted democratically) in supervising management. So that this results in the size of the board of commissioners having no effect on financial performance, (2) It is difficult to determine the optimal number of board members because it depends on the complexity of the company's activities, (3) The existence of audit committees at financial institutions seems to be limited to fulfilling regulations that require financial institution companies to have an audit committee.
