Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a behavior that deviates from or unlawful such as fights, theft, watch porn and violated discipline in the school. Phenomena contained in SMK Adzkia 78% of 85 teenage boys fighting with other schools, 67% of teenagers skipping, 61% watch porn it is included in aspects of juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency can be caused by several factors. Adolescent perceptions of effective communication with parents may be one factor contributing to the delinquency. The method that will be used in this study is the quantitative method than can be categorized correlation. This study aimed to examine The correlation of male teenager perceptions of effective communication with Juvenile Delinquency in SMK Adzkia Padang. The population in this study amounted to 82 male students who performed in the discipline process Adzkia SMK Padang. The sample used in this study is saturated sample, where this study took the entire population as the sample in the study. Measuring tool in this study using juvenile delinquency scale consists of 38 items based on four aspects of juvenile delinquency(rix= 0,939). As for the perception of effective communication scale consists of 49 items based on 5 aspects of effective communication (rix= 0,947). The analysis method is using the correlation analysis where X refers to the perceptions of effective communication variables teenage boys and parents while Y refers to juvenile delinquency variable. This study proves that there is a correlation of male teenager and parents perceptions of effective communication with Juvenile Delinquency in SMK Adzkia Padang. The result shows that in data processing the writer found correlation coefficient (R) which is equal to - 0.392 with a significance level (p) of 0.000 so that p <0.05. The Negative correlation number indicates the negative relationship of male teenager perceptions of effective communication with Juvenile Delinquency. The higher the perceptions of effective communication of teenage boys, the lower the juvenile delinquency is. On the contrary the lower the perceptions of effective communication of teenage boys, the higher delinquency. The results showed that the hypothesis is acceptable.
