Abstract

This research aims to describe the function of the IOM(InternationalOrganization for Migration) to handle human trafficking in Indonesia on the period 2011-2014. IOM Indonesia focuses on human trafficking since 2004 as a continuation of the Bali Process. This research is using a qualitative method with utilize the concept of sixIGO function by Margareth P Karns and Caren A Mingts which are informational, forum, normative, rule creation, rule supervision and operational to see IOM function on handling human trafficking in Indonesia. This research founds that IOM function to handle human trafficking in Indonesia are informational to conduct the collection and dissemination of data, the Forum through the Bali Process on people smuggling and trafficking region Asia Pacific, Normative carried to the determination of the norms which is done through awareness activities against acts of human trafficking, rule Creation the preparation of legally binding rules to assist the government in making the finalization of the draft fan UUPTPPO 2007, rule supervision to supervise the Police Department and operational to provide assistance to the victims either directly or technicaly.From 6 to these functions, the dominant function will be undertaken by the IOM are Informational, Rule Supervision and operational.
