Abstract

Semen Padang FC is the only professional football team from West Sumatra that competed at Indonesian Super League. Group of fanatical supporters Semen Padang FC are The Kmers and Spartacks. The Kmers is the first group of Semen Padang FC supporters which have stagnates support. It encourages the establishment of an independent supporter named Spartacks. Managerial freedom makes Spartacks in quick time outperform The Kmers in terms of popularity. This case makes hatred and sentiment from The Kmers to generate a conflict that cannot be avoided. This study uses qualitative approaches and methods. Data was collected by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Conflict Spiral Model can describe how the background and the shape and development of the conflict. While the two-way communication Model can describe any communication barriers that cause conflict and how communication efforts that have been made in resolving the conflict. The results showed that The Kmers conflict and Spartacks has been greatly developed and extends to aspects of social life. Environmental factors are very influential in the escalation of this conflict. This conflict would have to be resolved given the losses incurred. Based on the findings in the field, both parties are organizations have agreed to resolve the conflict. However, communication efforts undertaken have met with resistance. Despite the efforts of communication such as discussions, seminars, meetings, as well as the creation of a peace song has been done, but because of the negative stigma that already appeared, incompetence communicator and mediator of conflict resolution lead to the present conflict is not resolved properly.
