Abstract

The existence of the Covid-19 Pandemic greatly affects the world population to present. In the field of education the influence of the existence of the covid-19 pandemic can be seen from the implementation of online learning by several countries in the world including Indonesia. To the present online learning policy is still implemented, the impact of the implementation of online learning for students is also quite diverse. This study aims to find out the impact of online learning on student spending. This research was conducted at Andalas University. The subject in this study is undergraduate students of class 2017, 2018 and 2019 that are studying at Andalas University. The urgency of this study is because online learning is a new policy and it is necessary to examine the impact that students experience in order to understand the changes brought about by the online learning policy. Data analysis methods used in this study namely, Analysis data descriptive and Paired t test. The results of this study is that online learning policies have an impact on changes in student spending for tuition fees, food consumption and non-food consumption. Although student spending on each type of spending during online learning proved to be much decreased compared to the increase. However, it also needs attention from stakeholders in order to later be able to control or help students whose economic conditions experienced problems during the Covid-19 pandemic.
