Abstract

Replacement analysis is one of the economic techniques used to analyze equipment's economic life during its useful life. By knowing an asset's economic life, the company will know when the asset should get replaced. Asset management must be performed optimally to bolster production activities and achieves production targets. This final project is conducted at PT Semen Padang's Workshop. The problem is the asset replacement procedure has not been supported with the calculation of asset replacement analysis as a strong consideration in replacing the asset. Asset gets replaced if the asset has a full breakdown. This final project aims to design a software of asset replacement to make the manager's task easier to determine when an asset should be replaced. In this final project, the Remaining Life Defender method is used to calculate the lowest total equivalent to an asset's annual cost to replace the asset in the suggested year. Implementing this asset replacement analysis software can solve the problem in deciding asset replacement by the workshop manager to the PT Semen Padang Workshop unit's head. With the application of the calculation of Remaining Life of Defender as a method in replacement analysis, it can be a strong justification and consideration by the unit head in issuing asset replacement decisions. And with the development of software with asset replacement calculations, it can help workshop managers make asset replacement proposals using an economical approach as a strong justification and consideration in asset replacement.
