Abstract
Kata kunci : bakteri penghasil siderofor, biochar sekam padi, keracunan Fe, tanah sawah Iron (Fe) is the fourth element the most commonly found in the earth's lithosphere, but if the iron content is more than 300 ppm in the soil, it has the potential to poison rice plants. A research on the Effect of Siderophore Producing Bacteria (Bacillus RK 12) And Rice Husk Biochar on Iron (Fe) Levels in Volcanic Rice Fields was carried out at the Glass House, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University and soil analysis at the Laboratory of the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University from October 2019 to Maret 2020. The objectives of this study were (1) to obtain the interaction between siderophore producing bacteria (Bacillus RK 12) and rice husk biochar growing media in overcoming Iron (Fe) poisoning in volcanic rice soil, (2) to obtain the dosage of siderophore producing bacterial isolates (Bacillus RK 12) in overcoming Iron (Fe) poisoning in volcanic rice soil and (3) to observe the effect of rice husk biochar as a growing medium for siderophore producing bacteria (Bacillus RK 12) in reducing Iron (Fe) poisoning in volcanic rice soil. This research was conducted experimentally using a factorial design with the first factor was Bacteria (A) having 3 levels (0 ml, 10 ml and 20 ml) and the second factor was Biochar (B) having 2 levels (0 g, 25 g) with 3 replications. There were totally 18 experimental units which were allocated according to a completely randomized design (CRD). The result showed that there was no interaction between siderophore producing bacteria (Bacillus RK 12) and biochar in reducing Fe levels in volcanic paddy soil. The dose of siderophore producing bacteria (Bacillus RK 12) 10 ml could reduce Fe3+ from 2096 ppm to 2064 ppm and Fe2+ from 1409 ppm to 1376 ppm however application of siderophore producing bacteria (Bacillus RK 12) did not decrease Fe3+ and Fe2+ levels in volcanic paddy soil. Application of 25 g of rice husk biochar was not able to be a good growth medium for siderophore producing bacteria (Bacillus RK 12) because there was no reduction in Fe content in volcanic paddy soil. Keywords: siderophore producing bacteria, rice husk biochar, Fe poisoning, paddy soil
