Abstract

This research aims to explain the efforts made by The Hunger Project in overcoming hunger in Bangladesh which focuses on empowering human resources. The Hunger Project offers a new approach to the problem of overcoming hunger in Bangladesh, not by providing material assistance but through empowering people because the lack of human empowerment in Bangladesh is one of the inhibiting factors in overcoming hunger. The Hunger Project has succeeded in making the people of Bangladesh more independent so that they are no longer dependent on aid and able to meet their own needs. This research was analyzed using the conceptual framework of The Role of Civil Society Organization. This study found that one of the main activities of The Hunger Project in Bangladesh is overcoming hunger which focuses on eradicating corruption and gender inequality. In addition, the efforts made by The Hunger Project in overcoming hunger in Bangladesh are through the programs of the Bikoshito Nari Network, Shushashoner Janno Nagarik (SHUJAN), Strengthening Local Governance Project (SLGP), Participatory Planning.
