Abstract

EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) DI NAGARI SIGUNTUR KECAMATAN SITIUNG KABUPATEN DHARMASRAYA ABSTRAK Evaluasi lahan merupakan proses pendugaan potensi lahan dan mendapatkan informasi dari suatu lahan untuk bermacam alternatif penggunaan lahan. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman kelapa sawit di Nagari Siguntur Kecamatan Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya perlu dilakukan, karena daerah ini memiliki lahan yang luas dan berpotensi untuk pengembangan tanaman kelapa sawit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan kelas kesesuaian lahan dan membuat peta kesesuaian lahan berdasarkan peta satuan lahan (SL) untuk tanaman kelapa sawit di Nagari Siguntur Kecamatan Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Metode dalam menentukan satuan lahan yaitu purposive sampling, pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode random sampling, dan penetapan kelas kesesuaian lahan menggunakan metode matching yaitu mencocokkan antara karakteristik lahan dengan syarat tumbuh tanaman kelapa sawit. Kegiatan penelitian meliputi empat tahapan yaitu : tahap persiapan, pra survei, survei utama dan analisis sampel di laboratorium. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu : kelas kesesuaian lahan S1 (sangat sesuai) dengan sub-kelas S2 nr, eh pada SL 1, kelas kesesuaian lahan S1 (sangat sesuai) dengan sub-kelas S2 nr pada SL 2, 4, dan 6, kelas kesesuaian lahan S1 (sangat sesuai) pada SL 5, dan kelas kesesuian lahan N (tidak sesuai) pada SL 3 dengan sub-kelas N rc, eh, lp Kata kunci : evaluasi kesesuaian lahan, kelapa sawit, Siguntur, retensi hara, kelerengan. EVALUATION OF LAND SUITABILITY FOR OIL PALM (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) IN SIGUNTUR SITIUNG SUB-DISTRICT DHARMASRAYA DISTRICT ABSTRACT Land evaluation is the process of estimating land potential and obtaining information of a land for various alternative land uses. Evaluation of land suitability for oil palm crops in Siguntur, Sitiung Sub-District, Dharmasraya District is necessary because that area has a large land and has a potential for the cultivation of oil palm crops. The objectives of this study were to determine the land suitability class and make a land suitability map based on the land unit map for oil palm crops in Siguntur, Sitiung Sub-District, Dharmasraya District. The method to determine the land units was a purposive sampling, for sampling was a random method, and to determine the land suitability class was a matching method, by matching the characteristics of the land with the growth requirements of oil palm crops. The research activity consisted of four stages, namely: the preparation stage, pre-survey, main survey and sample analysis in the laboratory. The results showed that : the land suitability class S1 was (very appropriate) with sub-class S2 nr, eh in SL 1, the land suitability class was S1 (very appropriate) with sub-class S2 nr in SL 2, 4, and 6, the land suitability class was S1 (very appropriate) in SL 5, and the land suitability class was N (unsuitable) in SL 3 with sub-classes N rc, eh, lp.
