Abstract

This study aimed to examine internal factors influencing the profitability of banks. In this study there are six independent variables which are internal factors bank, there are: Bank Size (LNTA), Gearing Ratio (GR), Non-Performing Loans Ratio (NPLs ratio), Asset Management (AM), Operating Efficiency (OE) and Capital Adequacy (CA) with dependent variables are Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equities (ROE). The number of populations found in this study were 4 banks. All populations serve as research participants. The analysis technique used in this study is multiple regression. Hypothesis testing is performed using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 20.0 for windows through F-test (ANOVA) and T-test (partial). The result of this study showed that together (F-test) all independent variables affect the profitability. Then, four independent variable affecting Return on Assets (ROA) significantly on T-test which consist of Bank Size (LNTA), Non- Performing Loans Ratio (NPLs ratio), Asset Management (AM) and Capital Adequacy (CA), and four independent variable affecting Return on Equities (ROE) significantly on T-test which consist of Bank Size (LNTA), Gearing Ratio (GR), Non-Performing Loans Ratio (NPLs ratio), Asset Management (AM) and Capital Adequacy (CA). While Gearing Ratio (GR) and Operating Efficiency (OE) have no effect on Return on Assets (ROA), and Operating Efficiency (OE) has no effect on Return on Equities (ROE) too.
