Abstract

PERBEDAAN STABILITAS DIMENSI ANTARA CETAKAN ALGINAT YANG DIRENDAM DAN DISEMPROT DENGAN LARUTAN NATRIUM HIPOKLORIT 0,5% Hifdzi Zikra Lubis, Rizanda Machmud, Susi ABSTRAK Alginat merupakan salah satu media penularan infeksi silang, oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan tindakan desinfeksi. Natrium hipoklorit merupakan disinfektan untuk alginat. Alginat mempunyai sifat imbibisi yang mempengaruhi stabilitas dimensi cetakan alginat. Standar ADA no. 18, bahan cetak alginat tidak boleh mengalami perubahan lebih dari 0,5% dari ukuran awal master cast. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan stabilitas dimensi antara cetakan alginat yang direndam dan disemprot dengan larutan natrium hipoklorit 0,5%. Penelitian eksperimental laboratorium double blind dengan rancangan post test only group dengan jumlah sampel 36. Terdiri dari 6 kelompok, yaitu kelompok yang direndam 5 menit, 10 menit, 15 menit, disemprot 5 menit, 10 menit dan 15 menit. Cetakan alginat direndam dan disemprot dengan natrium hipoklorit 0,5%, diisi gipsum, kemudian diukur stabilitas dimensinya menggunakan jangka sorong digital. Data dianalisis dengan Two Way Anova, kemudian uji Post hoc Bonferroni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan cetakan alginat yang direndam mengalami perubahan stabilitas dimensi yang lebih besar jika dibandingkan dengan yang disemprot. Uji Two Way Anova menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna (p<0.05) antara cetakan alginat yang direndam dan disemprot. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa terdapat perbedaan stabilitas dimensi antara cetakan alginat yang direndam dan disemprot dengan larutan natrium hipoklorit 0,5%. DIMENSIONAL STABILITY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IMMERSED AND SPRAYED ALGINATE IMPRESSION WITH 0,5% SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE SOLUTION Hifdzi Zikra Lubis, Rizanda Machmud, Susi ABSTRACT Alginate is one of media transmission for cross infection, therefore, it is important for disinfection. Sodium hypochlorite is a disinfectant for alginate. Alginate has some characteristics such as imbibition that can influence the dimensional stability of alginate impression. Based on the ADA standard no. 18, alginate may not change for more than 0.5% from its original size master cast. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between the dimensional stability of immersed alginate impression and sprayed alginate impression with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite solution. Laboratory experimental double blind research with post test only group design with 36 samples. The experiment consisted of 6 groups, the group that was immersed for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, sprayed for 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. Alginate impression was immersed and sprayed with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite, filled with gypsum, then measured the dimensional stability using digital caliper. Data were analyzed with Two Way Anova test, then Post hoc Bonferroni test. The results showed the dimensional stability of immersed alginate impression was greater than sprayed alginate impression. Two Way Anova test showed significant difference (p<0.05) between the immersed and sprayed alginate impression. It was concluded that there are differences on the dimentional stability of alginate impression that was immersed and sprayed with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite solution.
