Abstract

RISK FACTOR OF PRIMARY ANGLE CLOSURE GLAUCOMA (PACG) PATIENTS IN OPHTHALMOLOGY CLINIC OF RSUP DR. M. DJAMIL PADANG YEAR 2016-2019 By Larassati Dwi Ananda ABSTRACT Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma (PACG) is glaucoma caused by increase intraocular pressure, due to the presence of closure at the anterior chamber angle without any cause. PACG is a type of glaucoma with high blindness and attacks both eyes (bilateral). PACG is influenced by risk factors such as age, sex, refractive errors, intraocular pressure, family history, and anterior chamber depth. This study aims to determine the risk factors for PACG patients in the eye clinic of RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang in 2016-2019. This research was descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study was PACG patients who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria taken in total sampling. This study found that the majority of PACG patients were aged ≥ 40 years (91.3%). PACG patients with female sex (65.2%) more than men (34.8%). More hypermetropia (26.1%) than myopia (8.7%). Most PACG patients had intraocular pressure> 21 mmHg (65.2%). 91.3% of PACG patients have no family history. The most anterior chamber depth based on the Van Herrick system is Van Herrick grade 2 (73.91%). This study found that most PACG patients aged ≥ 40 years and female sex. Hypermetropia is obtained more than myopia. Most PACG patients have intraocular pressure > 21 mmHg. Almost all PACG patients have no family history. The anterior chamber depth in most PACG patients is Van Herrick grade 2. Most patients experience blindness due to PACG. Keyword: PACG, hypermetropia, Van Herrick grade
