Abstract

ABSTRACT Isolation and Characterization of Secondary Metabolite from Ethyl Acetate Fraction Senna alata L. Roxb. And Cytotoxic Bioactivity Test By: Bunga Hermina Asysyura (BP: 1510411031) Adviced by Prof. Dr. Adlis Santoni and Dr. Suryati Senna Alata L. Roxb Has been used traditionally by people as a medicine for tinca vesicolon, scabies, ringworm, inflammation of the skin and hepatitis. In this research, isolation of secondary metabolites of ethyl acetate fraction and cytotoxic tests were carried out on hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol fractions from methanol extracts of Senna alata L. Roxb. The results of phytochemical test ethyl acetate fraction contain flavonoids and triterpenoids. Isolation of secondary metabolites from the ethyl acetate fraction was carried out using column chromatography techniques with isocratic methods and SGP (Step Gradient Polarity). The isolated compound gave yellow fluorescence in TLC test and contained flavonoids in the phytochemical test. The results of the isolation of the ethyl acetate fraction of Senna alata L. Roxb. with UV-Vis showed the absorption of wavelength 226 nm, 255 nm and 287 nm and 429 nm, absorption of C-O, C-H, C=O dan C=C aromatic in the IR spectrum. The results of the cytotoxic bioactivity test using the Brine Shrimp Lesthality Test (BSLT) method showed that the ethyl acetate, hexane and methanol fraction of the Senna alata L.Roxb. were toxic for Artemia Salina Leach larvae with values LC50 ​​130.0578 mg/L, 213.6358 mg/L and 349,1497 mg/L.
