Abstract
This research aims to determine the factors that influence accounting students in career selection. The factors used as variables in this research are salary, professional training, professional recognition, social values, work environment, security and availability of occupation, and family influence. The data were collected in this research through the distribution of questionnaires to the final year accounting students at a private university in Padang. The sample used in this research were 135 respondents. Analysis of the data used in this research was multinomial logistic regression with SPSS version 16. The results of this research indicate that salaries, professional recognition, social values, security and availability of occupation affected accounting students in career selection. Whereas professional training, work environment, and family influence do not influence accounting students in career selection.
