Abstract

The growth of gay behavior that has same-sex attraction is that men with men are the cause of disease distribution due to sexual relations they do. The city of Padang is one of the places favored by gays because it is in the central position of their meetings. This is a concern for many parties with the increasing growth rate of gays and the impact on sexually transmitted diseases and HIV / AIDS. Research using qualitative methods, this case study to find out how the communication process carried out by the Public health Office of Padang in gay development as well as what matters are the obstacles. Efforts should be made by the Padang City Public Health Office and stakeholders to reduce the growth rate. Emphasis on growth from the impact of gay behavior can be done through coaching. The results show that there are several things occur in the communication process such as dynamic communication because communication runs continuously and gets feedback because of the growing trust instilled by the counselor through interpersonal communication. Next, the communication process can stop at any time due to several factors, rejection of the communicant, the delivery of messages by communicating corners, lack of approach, communicators need to know how the characters of each communicant. Finally, communication messages do not have to be accepted because of the psychological condition of a person who underlies communication messages that are not accepted by the communicant. Communication conducted by the Health Office changes behavior over a long period of time. Keywords: Communication Health Service, Gay, Gay Development.
