Abstract
RASIDIN HOSPITAL IN PADANG CITY 2019 X +72 pages, 24 tables, 4 pictures, 10 attachments ABSTRATCS Purpose Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is the one of the death main cause in the world including Indonesia, and around 80% of the death is caused by this disease. The proportion of diabetics in dr. Rasidin Hospital is increase from 14% to 19% in 2017 until 2019. Type II DM is caused by so many factors and one of them is unhealthy lifestyle such the lack of vitamin C, magnesium and fiber intake that cause the abnormal blood glucose level in the body. This study aims to know the corelation between vitamin C, magnesium, and fiber intake with the level of blood glucose of type II DM patients in internal polyclinic of dr. Rasidin Hospital Padang City 2019. Methode This study is a quantitative study using cross sectional design. The dependent variable is the level of blood glucose and independent variables are vitamin c, magnesium and fiber intake. The total or the samples are 42 respondents which taken by using Nutrisurvey for Recall and Microsoft Excel for SQ-FFQ, which analyzed using Pearson Correlation test. Result The result of study shows the average of blood glucose level of respondents is 181,38 mg/dL, the average of vitamin c intake is 81,88 mg/day, the average of magnesium is 202,89 mg/day, and the average of fiber intake is 6,04 g/day. Most respondets had an inadequate amounts of vitamin C, magnesium and fiber intake based on RDA and PERKENI. The result of the bivariate analysis showed that vitamin C, magnesium and fiber intake had no correlation with the level of blood glucose. Conclusion There were no correlation between vitamin C, magnesium and fiber intake with the level of blood glucose of type II DM patients. It is expected to dr. Rasidin Hospital Padang to give health promotion and consultation about the importance of vitamin C, magnesium, and fiber intake to type II DM patients.
