Abstract

PENGARUH PEMBERIAN BIOCHAR TEMPURUNG KELAPA DAN KOMPOS SERASAH KAKAO TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT AREN (Arenga pinnata Merr.) PADA TANAH BEKAS TAMBANG EMAS ABSTRAK Tanah bekas tambang emas merupakan tanah dengan tingkat kesuburan yang sangat rendah dan memiliki kandungan logam berat seperti merkuri (Hg). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberiaan biochar tempurung kelapa dan kompos serasah kakao terhadap perbaikan tanah bekas tambang emas terhadap pertumbuhan bibit aren. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan metode faktorial yang disusun dalam Rancangan acak lengak (RAL) dengan dua faktor yang pertama yaitu biochar tempurung kelapa dan faktor kedua adalah kompos serasah kakao masing-masingnya terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan. Diperoleh 16 kombinasi perlakuan yang masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan sehingga didapatkan 48 satuan percobaan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) Pemberian biochar tempurung kelapa yang terbaik terdapat pada dosis 80 g/polybag memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang, berat kering akar, dan rasio tajuk akar. 2) Pemberian kompos serasah kakao yang terbaik terdapat pada dosis 300 g/polybag memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap panjang akar bibit, berat kering akar, dan rasio tajuk akar 3) Tidak adanya interaksi antara biochar tempurung kelapa dan kompos serasah kakao terhadap pertumbuhan bibit aren pada tanah bekas tambang emas Kata kunci : Aren, tanah bekas tambang emas, biochar tempurung kelapa, kompos serasah kakao EFFECTS OF GIVING COCONUT SHELL BIOCHAR AND CACAO LITTER COMPOSIT TO THE GROWTH OF SUGAR PALM (Arenga pinnata Merr.) SEEDLINGS IN POST GOLD MINING LAND ABSTRACT Former gold mine soil is soil with very low fertility levels and contains heavy metals such as mercury (Hg). The objective of this research was to determine the effect of providing coconut shell biochar and cocoa litter compost on the improvement of former gold mine soil on the growth of sugar palm seedlings. This research was designed using a factorial method arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: the first factor was coconut shell biochar and the second factor was cocoa litter compost, each consisting of 4 treatment levels. Sixteen treatment combinations were obtained, each treatment replicated 3 times, resulting in 48 experimental units. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that: 1) The best application of coconut shell biochar was at a dose of 80 g/polybag, which had a significant effect on stem diameter, root dry weight, and shoot-to-root ratio. 2) The best application of cocoa litter compost was at a dose of 300 g/polybag, which had a significant effect on seedling root length, root dry weight, and shoot-to-root ratio. 3) There was no interaction between coconut shell biochar and cocoa litter compost on the growth of sugar palm seedlings in former gold mine soil.
