Abstract
PENGARUH PEMBERIAN KOMPOS KULIT BUAH KOPI DAN DOLOMIT TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT AREN (Arenga pinnata Merr.) PADA MAIN NURSERY DENGAN MEDIA TANAH BEKAS TAMBANG BATU BARA Abstrak Aren merupakan tanaman serba guna dan bernilai ekonomi tinggi, namun produktivitasnya masih rendah karena masih bergantung pada populasi alami dan teknik budidaya belum optimal. Upaya memperoleh bibit yang tumbuh baik pada berbagai kondisi dilakukan melalui penggunaan media tanam yang sesuai, seperti tanah bekas tambang batu bara yang diperbaiki dengan kompos kulit buah kopi dan dolomit. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui interaksi antara kompos kulit buah kopi dan dolomit, pengaruh pemberian kompos kulit buah kopi dan dolomit serta mendapatkan dosis terbaik dalam menunjang pertumbuhan bibit aren pada tanah bekas tambang batu bara. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan 2 faktor yang disusun dalam Rancangan Acak lengkap (RAL). Faktor pertama dosis kompos kulit buah kopi 0, 400, 800, dan 1.200 g/polybag dan dolomit dosis 1xAl-dd, 1,5xAl-dd, dan 2xAl-dd. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi kompos kulit buah kopi dan dolomit terhadap pertambahan tinggi bibit. Pemberian kompos kulit buah kopi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap, pertambahan tinggi bibit, pertambahan diameter bonggol, pertambahan jumlah daun, luas daun, panjang akar, volume akar, bobot kering tajuk, bobot kering akar dan rasio tajuk akar. Dolomit berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertambahan tinggi bibit, pertambahan diameter bonggol, pertambahan jumlah daun, luas daun, panjang akar, dan volume akar. Dosis terbaik diperoleh pada pemberian dosis kompos kulit buah kopi 1.200 g/polybag dengan 1,5xAl-dd dolomit yang mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit aren secara optimal dibandingkan perlakuan lain pada tanah bekas tambang batu bara. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kompos kulit buah kopi yang dikombinasikan dengan dolomit dapat menjadi alternatif pemupukan organik yang efektif untuk mendukung pertumbuhan bibit aren sekaligus memperbaiki kesuburan tanah bekas tambang batu bara. Kata kunci: Aren, bahan organik, dolomit, pembibitan, tanah bekas tambang. THE EFFECT OF COFFEE PULP COMPOST AND DOLOMITE APPLICATION ON THE GROWTH OF SUGAR PALM (Arenga pinnata MERR.) SEEDLINGS IN THE MAIN NURSERY USING FORMER COAL MINING SOIL Abstract Sugar palm is a multipurpose plant with high economic value; however, its productivity remains low because it still relies on natural populations and suboptimal cultivation techniques. Efforts to produce seedlings that can grow well under various conditions are carried out through the use of appropriate growing media, such as post-coal mining soil amended with coffee husk compost and dolomite. This study aimed to examine the interaction between coffee husk compost and dolomite, to evaluate their effects, and to determine the optimal dosage to support the growth of sugar palm seedlings in post-coal mining soil. The experiment was arranged in a two-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor was the dose of coffee husk compost 0, 400, 800, and 1,200 g/polybag, the second factor was the dose of dolomite 1×Al-dd, 1.5×Al-dd, and 2×Al-dd. The results showed that both coffee husk compost and dolomite significantly affected seedling height growth. The application of coffee husk compost had a significant effect on the increase in seedling height, stem base diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root length, root volume, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, and shoot–root ratio. Dolomite had a significant effect on seedling height, stem base diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root length, and root volume. The best treatment was obtained from the application of 1,200 g/polybag coffee husk compost combined with 1.5×Al-dd dolomite, which optimally enhanced the growth of sugar palm seedlings in post-coal mining soil. These results indicate that the combination of coffee husk compost and dolomite can serve as an effective organic amendment to support sugar palm seedling growth while improving the fertility of post-coal mining soil.
