Abstract

Nagari Labuah Gunuang memiliki ordo tanah inceptisol dengan kemiringan lahan yang berfariasi, yang berpotensi menurunkan status kesuburan kimia tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui status kesuburan kimia tanah serta memberikan rekomendasi pengelolaan lahan yang sesuai di Nagari Labuah Gunuang, Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2024 hingga Februari 2025, berlokasi di Nagari Labuah Gunuang, Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode survei lapangan dan analisis laboratorium dengan metode pengambilan sampel purposive random sampling pada setiap satuan lahan dengan tiga ulangan. Parameter kimia tanah yang dianalisis meliputi pH, C-organik, kapasitas tukar kation (KTK), kejenuhan basa (KB), serta ketersediaan fosfor (P) dan kalium (K). Data hasil analisis kemudian dievaluasi berdasarkan Petunjuk Teknis Evaluasi Kesuburan Tanah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status kesuburan tanah pada satuan lahan satu dengan kelerengan datar (rendah), satuan lahan dua dengan kelerengan landai (rendah) dan satuan lahan tiga dengan kelerengan lahan agak curam (rendah). Kondisi ini dipengaruhi oleh sifat tanah Inceptisol yang masam, kandungan bahan organik yang rendah serta KTK, KB, P dan K sangat rendah hingga sedang. Upaya peningkatan kesuburan tanah dapat dilakukan melalui pengapuran untuk menetralkan pH, penambahan bahan organik seperti kompos atau pupuk kandang, serta penerapan sistem pertanian berkelanjutan dengan tanaman penutup tanah (LCC). Labuah Gunuang Village is characterized by Inceptisol soil order with varying land slopes, which has the potential to reduce the chemical fertility status of the soil. This study aims to determine the chemical soil fertility status and provide appropriate land management recommendations in Nagari Labuah Gunuang, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The research was conducted from October 2024 to February 2025 in Nagari Labuah Gunuang, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The study employed a field survey and laboratory analysis using a purposive random sampling method for each land unit with three replications. The analyzed soil chemical parameters included pH, organic carbon (C-organic), cation exchange capacity (CEC), base saturation (BS), and the availability of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). The analytical data were evaluated based on the Technical Guidelines for Soil Fertility Evaluation. The results showed that the soil fertility status in land unit one with flat slopes, land unit two with gentle slopes, and land unit three with moderately steep slopes were classified as low. This condition is influenced by the acidic nature of Inceptisol soils, low organic matter content, and low to moderate levels of CEC, BS, P, and K. Efforts to improve soil fertility can be carried out through liming to neutralize soil pH, the addition of organic materials such as compost or manure, and the application of sustainable agricultural systems with leguminous cover crops (LCC).
