Abstract
The phenomenon of the onset of thermal effects caused by PD may lead to a temperature rise on insulating polymer, when the temperature gets higher, the air voids in the insulation will enlarge, if left unchecked temperature increases, there will be a breakdown or insulation failure. Representation Void tested using needle electrodes with a flat field of air between 0.1 and 0.3 mm showed that, the distance between the air affect the amount of PD that appear and thermal effects that occur in isolation Poliethylene Low Density (LDPE). Variations voltage value is 8 kVpp, and 10 kVpp will impact on the value of the charge and the charge on PD. The greater the applied voltage, the greater the value of the charge, the more the number of PD, and will cause an increase in body temperature insulating materials will increase as well, the variation distance between 0.1 and 0.3 mm air also affects the amount of PD that appear and increase in temperature the insulating material between the air tersebut.jarak very influential on the number of PD, temperature rise, and time translucent material that occurs in isolation.
