Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain empirical evidence on how the profitability ratio influences stock prices in the Pharmaceutical Industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2006-2010. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with the following criteria: (1) Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange since 2006 (2) Companies engaged in the pharmaceutical industry (3) Publish complete financial reports and publish them in the Indonesian Capital Market Directory (ICMD). The number of samples used is 7 companies out of 9 Pharmaceutical Industry companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Testing of this study was first carried out using the classical assumption test consisting of 4 basic assumptions, namely normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression, hypothesis testing and coefficient of determination. Based on the results of the study, only 2 variables are suitable for use in this study, namely the Net Profit Margin (NPM) and Earning Per Share (EPS) variables. The results of this study indicate that the variables Net Profit Margin (NPM) and Earning Per Share (EPS) partially have a positive relationship and a significant effect on stock prices with a significance level of 0.000, less than 0.05. Meanwhile, together, the independent variables, namely Net Profit Margin (NPM) and Earning Per Share (EPS), also have a significant effect on the independent variable, namely stock prices, with a significance level less than 0.05.
