Abstract

Agribisnis MicrofinanceInstitutions (LKM-A) is a Financial Institutions that is utilized and encouraged to finance economic activities in rural area. One of LKM-A in padang isLKM-AHarapan Bundo which is located in the Village of Lubuk lintah. ThisLKM-A is supporting the activities of farmers ingetting a loan, and inorder to get the loan the farmers have to fulfill severval requirements. The aims of this studyare to portrait theprofil of LKM-A Harapan Bundo, to describe the sources of capital and to analyz the utilization of the funds borrowed by farmers. The research was conducted by usingcase study method. Meanwhile informations obtained through the depth- intewiewwith administrators and managers of LKM-A and also through structured interwiew with rice farmers who borrowed to LKM-A Harapan Bundo. This research was carried out for 2 months from july to august 2012. The result shows that the resources of capital lowland rice farmers inGapoktan Harapan Bundo derived from LKM-A Harapan Bundo and farmers own capital. There are two categories of farmers basedon land areawhich are 0,5 Ha farmers who get loans of Rp.2.200.000 and0,25 hectares farmers who get Rp. 1.100.000. Furthermore the utilization of capital mainly are for purchasing seed, fertilizer, pesticide, land preparation, planting, fertilizing, harvesting and rental machinery.
